Abbott And Costello Movies on motion pictures testimonials:
Query by David G: What Abbott & Costello motion pictures really should I get my grandpa for Xmas?
He’s staying inside a lot more, specially since of the cold. With him living alone, he type of began watching Television a lot more. He’s not really that into Tv, but he does like watching Lou Costello. He has In the Navy and loves it, but what other films have some truly goofy, hilarious scenes? I’ve noticed a couple of, but I can’t remember which ones I’ve witnessed and which are funny. I am also exhausted to consider proper now, and need to order them quickly to get right here by Xmas. Thanks!

i love who’s on first. it gets me everytime
Who’s on First. It’s a classic =]
I love Bud & Lou! I’ve collected just about all their movies over the years, but if I had to pick out my favorites, I’d go with:
- Abbott & Costello Meet The Killer – Bud & Lou work at a hotel and Lou is framed for the murder of a famous trial lawyer; I don’t think they do any of their famous routines, but there’s lots of their trademark wordplay and plenty of Lou’s slapstick.
- In Society – Plumbers Bud & Lou get mixed up with high society garden party and foil an art theft, doing the “Susquehanna Hat Company” routine along the way.
- Who Done It? – Aspiring radio show writers Bud & Lou get mixed up in a real murder mystery; lots of great gags, including the “Alexander-2222″ telephone bit
- Hit the Ice – Bud & Lou get mistaken for bank robbers and have to catch the real crooks to clear themselves; again, lots of great gags, including the “teller in the bank” routine and the handkerchief gag (“you stand on one end, I’ll stand on the other, and I bet you can’t hit me!”)
- Hold That Ghost – bookended by musical numbers by Ted Lewis and the Andrews Sisters (good or bad depending on tastes), lots of good routines and Lou’s frantic slapstick, as Bud & Lou inherit a gangster’s run-down old tavern.
Hope that helps!
Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein.
If he likes A&C, you might also get him some Marx Brothers or WC Fields.
